Tune in May 24th for a replay of the popular show, The Great Commandment on The Open Door, Ascended Master Online Radio Program!
And one of the scribes came and, having heard them reasoning together and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is: Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord! And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
When it comes to essential spiritual truths, one great commandment eclipses all the rest: Love God…and love thy neighbor as thyself. This is (or should be) the common denominator in all relevant spiritual practice.
To embrace this overarching precept of loving God and loving our neighbor as ourselves is to embrace the totality of God in both concept and practice.
To love God is to be God. The one God of all Gods is literally the fire of creation…the singular essence of all life that is individualized within each of us.
Practicing this two-fold great commandment is our sure defense against ignorance, evil and darkness. It is the antidote for fear and doubt. It is our lifeline to the Truth. It is the open door for an intimate one-on-one conversation and relationship with our Highest Self, our true nature.
And it is the golden ticket Home!
This is what awakening to the Light within is all about: knowing and loving God within and recognizing God in our neighbors, our fellow man.
All great religions and spiritual disciplines have had this essential commandment at their core…and this is what all the great saints and sages of East and West have demonstrated.
